    Hi

I bought a ASUS A6500U lately and it has a 128mb-SIS Mirage TM 2 gfx card on it. It has been freezing on every game i started on it, even in the menu! Everything else works fine. I wont be able to plug him in to internet untill monday so d/ling any drivers for now is not possible. Any other ideas ?

Well...... I hate you put it thise way, but you bought the worst computer possible if you want to play games...... It doesn't have a "graphics card" it's got SiS integrated graphics and it's not worth a dime for gaming... period. The A6u is a great, cheap.... basic machine, but don't expect to game on it.

LOL. Justin is right... the gaming capabilities of that machine are not stellar; however, maybe new drivers MIGHT help (although I doubt it).

Out of curiosity...which game(s) are you trying to run?

Yeah, the game title and settings would be interesting to know......

We have a couple other Asus models which atleast have the intel 915 integrated graphics.... those aren't bad and you can game a little bit on them....... but on the AMD side, unless it's running a dedicated solution.. it's just meant for a cheap system... which it is. Great little computer for about a grand... but that's it.

This integrated solution is better than SiS used have..... but lets face it, SiS is really who gave integrated graphics the a bad wrap to begin with.

    Hello

I don't really want to play games on it, it's rather for work/internet outside house. I just wanted to try some games on it so maybe when I'm gone somewhere I wouldn't have to play Saper. The only games I tried so far were Warcraft 3 and Soldier of Fortune 2. I hope Starcraft will run on it lol.

    Thx for answers.

    The laptop spec:
    AMD Sempron 3000+
    512 ram pc333
    and that lameass gfx

I bought it for about 700$, not sure what the curent currency is, but the funny stuff is, on the ASUS flyer with all the laptop spec it says something around " Strong Video Card to support NEW GAMES(sure) andflawless movie playing". I should go there and kick them all in the balls.

... yeah, you should. I don't want to say you should have done more research, but I guess everything is relative. You can play some stuff, but look at the requirements. If you don't have them, you won't be playing them.
