Frusterations - anyone bought from xoticpc before?

So all of the prefered retailers on the FAQ seem to be out of the w3j until early august...which is now, and I need a laptop here no fail by the 14th or I'm in a world of trouble. So it's a little hard for me to sit here on a pre-order list because I can't even afford a small chance it wouldn't make my date.


I ordered my w3j from c9tech on sunday however I have a limit on my credit card (I have a debit/credit card I seldomly spend much on; generally I write checks here). So my charge gets denied and the owner sasha was very personable and tried to help me find a solution... So yesterday around 1:30 or so I sent him an e-mail saying that I was going to need to change the billing method to a different card/name (Going to use my fathers card which doesn't have a daily limit). He says okay and that once I order it, it will just go ahead and replace my old order. So peroidically through the day I check the website to make sure eveythings good and in stock. I end up ordering at 5:15 (so about 4 hours after I say I want to change my billing method). In those 4 hours of my order being changed from pending to "cancelled" they sell the last w3j and I'm told I need to pre-order (Which causes me to get a wee bit purturbed, understandably... I'm not mad at c9tech as I am my own apparent bad luck).

So I'm a little frusterated and I need a laptop, I spent several weeks in heavy debate and research about which laptop to buy and only recently did I stumble upon this community.


I'm looking for a place to buy a w3j + 2gb ram and one place that does currently have them is xoticpc and I was wondering if anyone has ordered from them before or if they had any feedback on them.

 

Update: It looks like milestone may have w3j instock

 

We received a small shipment of W3J yesterday, but only a few left by Tuesday evening.

 

so are there still some left? I just sent you an e-mail asking about the turn around time on putting 2gb of ram in a w3j and sending it out.

Is your opertaion based in canada?

 

They just opened their US office near Freemont

 

W3j has been sold out in usa for over a week. Anyone who actually sells a good quantity of these and actually STOCKS them would have known. Anyone with one or a few remaining would have sold out over a week ago as well. We sold the last few above retail over a week ago. I love it lol. They didnt just dissapear from the channel. They were actually gone weeks ago.

 

not very fun for the consumer to be sitting looking at someonme with it in stock and being stuck in limbo with another company.

I know you were worried about getting it before school, but you can also have it shipped to your campus location, not a big deal at all...
