    Model: Asus A3000
Problem: My function keys aren't working... can anyone help/advise how to remedy this?

It is about 18 months old.

    Thanks

P.S. This has been a problem for some time, I think since the laptop was reformatted due to it crashing.

Have you tried grabbing all the drivers from the ASUS download site?

is the OSD(on screen display) just not working or are the keys actually not doing anything?

This is a good distinction to make. I happen to be having a similar problem on my W3J, but it's related to Vista.

If you look at your task manager (Control+Alt+Delete), do you see the OSD processes running? Also, do you see the Hotkey and other ATK processes running?

most of the keys aren't doing anything...

function + num lock works, but that's it.

does that sound like a driver problem?

P.s. sorry i am at a loss what to do here!!
