I know others have complained about the sound levels on the G series...so is there a way to hack the driver or a registry tweak to got more volume out of it??
Mine is the G51JX-a1 and I know that the Asus strategy is one about trying to keep energy usage down on the horsepower rigs so with that there has to be a way to undo it.. otherwise they are useless...then again I am just another going deaf drummer lol...

Headset or external speakers.

Do you think modding the soundcard driver will work?

Audio volume is limited primarily by the hardware that the speakers uses and no matter how well drivers are written, software can only do so much. If you need more volume, the only alternative is to use a pair of headphones or speakers as sama98b suggested.

Not surprising... I do know its not the speakers, its the amount of power going to them which is governed my the mobo and how much the bios lets it have.. Thats where I want to go besides the obvious.. to which I do use earphones.
sounds like no one has really looked into the nuts and bolts of this one.. -
If you haven't tried this, it does help out. Go into the realtek audio manager, then on the speakers tab select sound effects and then select loudness equalization. It bumped the volume up a noticeable amount for me.

Thanks... seems as if it may have helped a little..
