    Oh dear - i think i've buggered my 4 hour old G1

Everything was working fine, i was just removing a few unwanted programs etc when wireless stopped working. I get this message

"The wireless adapter failed to get a valid IP address". The one thing I uninstalled was the 56k modem. I've now reinstalled - but to no avail (I lie I also removed the asus frames thingy and skyoe). I'm waiting for an email to validate my account on the ASUS support forums so I thought I'd post here on the off chance. Any ideas?

What do you know...... did you happen to remove Asus' wireless console? I see this a lot people who want to trim down some of the processes and they ditch stuff like this.... then all of a sudden nothing works...

You are right to speculate i am stupid - but not that stupid ;)

Nothing like that removed. I think the last thing that happened b4 problems was a reboot for a windows update.

haha... well, I might suggest simply doing a restore if you haven't done that much..... then slowly redo one thing as a time as you did before and see where or what is screwing up the wifi.

Don't feel bad. I got the blue screen of death after about 3 hours on my new G1. I had tried to install Goback on it and it said hell no. After several self reboots I got to the safe mode and Windows restored. I love that program though! Better than windows restore in my opinion. Good luck by the way.

Did the F9 restore thing which fixed the problem. God knows what I did, but I'm suddenly less eager to remove things I think are superfluous, especially as I'm not very technical (compared to most of you lot).

    Thanks for the assistance!
