Hey guys,
I got my G1 around 20 days ago...
It working great
I had some questions about Direct Messenger and OLED display. How can u customize tht display?
I have heard that you can display your IM msgs and some other things on it. However, Direct Console does not have any options like that.
Is there anything out there which can do some more stuff and use the display more efficiently?
-
From what I have read on other threads, the answer is a no at this moment. But, I can be wrong!
-
I would love to see that OLED Display supported in Linux too
Any information on what kind of device is that? -
It automatically displays that you have IM messages and who they are from.
-
What kind of messenger it supports? because i use AIM all the time and i do not see anything on the OLED
can u help me with tht? -
I use MSN Live messenger and it works with that
-
do u have to change any settings for Live messenger to work or it just works by default....
Thank You Jammy... -
it just worked with my MSN without me setting anything... i logged on, started playing some CSS, then suddenly that display flashed telling me i have a new msg and who it was from
-
mee too with Live - did nothing and it just worked
-
it works with msn messenger when you don't have the messenger open. so when playing a game or watching a dvd the display flashes and tells you you have a msn message and from who it is from.

You will need to open the Asus Direct Console program, this is where you can turn on or off the lights (on the side of the LCD), and where you can turn on the Messenger option.
Also you will be able to customize the OLED with your own little messages and smileys. -
Thank You Guys for your help...
I appreciate it...
It would be better if it worked for other messengers like AIM or Yahoo, but MSN is still fine...
Thnx againg... -
btw i think it stop working if you install MSG Plus...
