Sorry if this is a noob question, but how do you remove the hard drive from the G1? I removed the hard drive cover and the rubber spacer behind the drive itself, but still cannot free the drive. Am I missing something? I do not see any screws or clips that would hold it in place.

The rubber spacer should have a nylon ribbon on it. Pull on the ribbon. Your goal is to pull the drive into the space where the rubber spacer was located. Once you pull the drive into that space, it will unhook from the notebook body and you can lift it out.

The drive itself is screwed into a carrier that hooks onto the notebook body and is attached to the rubber spacer by the nylon ribbon. If you are swapping drives, unscrew the old drive and mount the new drive in this carrier, then reverse the above steps to reinstall.
