Hey, I was wondering why there was a 58gb partition for "data", Is it needed to function or can i make the partition smaller somehow?

You mean, if you can split it in two (or more). If you just make it smaller and don't reallocate the created HDD space, then that space is wasted.

    To answer:
Yes you can split it; I myself would do it, whether you should do it depends on your needs.
