    Hi Guys,

    This G1 is my 1st laptop so not very sure bout this.

    I'm downloading games which may take some time and intend to sleep and let it download. However when i close the lid the laptop goes into standby mode.

    Is there any way to close the lid and continue to download?

    Or lid open and monitor off and continue download?

    Go to power options in the control panel, there are options for you to customize there.

    yeah if u go into the power options in control panel like Coriolis said you can set the power options so that when you close your lid it doesnt do anything. Basically running fully when your lid is closed. You also want to set the power options so that it doesnt go into standby or hibernate before you want it to otherwise you will probably not notice it has gone off.
