    Hi

I was wondering if it is possible to connect a game console (xbox 360) to the G1 and use the screen to play?

I know I would need a special cable of somesort..

Does you laptop have video in? If not then I don't believe it is possible, however you can buy an external monitor and it will work with the xbox 360 vga cable, but the 360 vga is like 50.00 extra. I use that setup on my 19inch gateway lcd on my desktop when I don't feel like using the Sony 32 across the room.

sorry but I have no idea what video in is. But the G1 does have

    1 x VGA port
    1 x DVI-D port
    1 x TV-out(S-Video)

    will any of these work?

My lappy has the same thing, minus the DVD-D port. The 3 ports you speak of are all video out for hooking up an external monitor. Now you could pick up an external lcd and use the xbox360 vga in one port on the lcd and the DVI-D for you computer to the lcd and run dual monitors. Just make sure your new external LCD has both vga and dvi-d in ports on the back of it.

well I have a LCD already without s dvi-d port. Can I just use the LCD as a single screen for the 360?

Yes if the LCD you are referring to is a standalone external monitor. You have to buy the xbox 360 vga hd cable and it will work. I have the component (rgb) cable set for the tv and the vga hd for the lcd panel depending on where I am sitting I just hook up either set to the 360.
