I have had my laptop for about a month and have had no problems playing games. Now, when I play FEAR after about an hour of playing it freezes and you have to reboot it. Any ideas what this could be? Is it the laptop or windows? Is something wrong with the graphics card?

    Any help is appreciated.

Could be overheating - Check temps after reboot, If hot I would get a laptop cooler.

Yes check your temps, that might be the first thing that would shut it down (better to freeze up and shut down than have your laptop melt :) )

Other things to check are the drivers possibly. Perhaps its a sound issue. I have had an issue with World of Warcraft crashing every 15 or so minutes with the sound on. I downloaded the newest drivers, and the problem was fixxed.

Patching the game like ejl said might help too. There are all kinds of little things that might be causing it, gotta love the part about finding out what it is. :p

After all new drivers and patches though, you should be good to go.

That used to happen to me (different game) on my desktop, the problem was my drivers. You just need to find the right ones, in my case i had to go back to an older version, try to find the ones that say that the update is specifically for the 7700 if you can.
