    I was curious if anyone knows why the vent holes by the processor are covered up with tape. It seems quite intentional, but when i removed the tape, the fan sounded a lot better and the laptop seems to run cooler.

    It's an ensemble unit so the reseller doesn't touch it unless the customer had some custom options added.

    I don't think they're covered with tape, I mean it sure looks like tape, but once you look closely, it's actually some sort of filter to keep dust out. At least on mine that's how it is.
