    Hi

I've tried to connect my G1S to my HDMI TV, but no picture comes comes up - even though the G1S recognises an HDMI cable is connected.

Anyone tried to output to HDMI and done so successfully? Any tips?

    Many thanks,

    Petrov.

A bit more clarity - I think its only a 720p TV, and my G1S was at 1680x1050, so the TV presumably couldn't show the default res. How do you change the resolution that goes through the HDMI cable?

That doesn't matter, the two displays don't need to be the same res. Try the hotkey for chaning between screens (fn+F8). Also look in the nVidia controlpanel, where you can change the dual view settings.

Can an HDTV be used as a satisfactory external monitor? I was considering an external LCD monitor, but a small TV would be better.

Depends on the model. I tested an Imac with a Sony KDL-40W2000 (40" 1080p), but the result was so and so from close up and ok from farther away. A LCD monitors will still give you better result (they tend to have better panels for computer usage).
