I was just wondering why the little OLED display on my G1S only shows the time and no other information? I thought I read that it is suppose to show you when you have new mail, or battery info but mine only ever displays the time.

Any ideas, has it not been setup properly for Vista?

    Thanks.

When I turned my G1S on for the first time it notified me that i had mail. It also warns when battery is low or when i have a messagem in msn. So don't know what's happening with yours. (Default settings here)

Go on msn, and run a full screen amp like a game. Then when someone messages you it should flash several times and show theyre name... to my disappointment it doesn't show what they said, just that they sent a message.

I don't use MSN. It's not a big deal but it would be nice it showed me a little icon when I had mail or a battery symbol.

For it to do that stuff you have to use MSN and Outlook (either/or or both), if you aren't that is why it isn't coming up, sorry =/

it would be really great if Asus would provide a program to configure the display to show whatever you want :)

Well, aside from the time you can have it scroll text or icons. That some consolation.

That's correct guys, you will need to use MSN Messenger, and Outlook Express. MSN will only show the person who messaged you not the message itself.

Outlook will tell you if you got mail.

In the Direct Console you are able to change the text, by adding your own phrases and add smileys.

i'll have to take another look into that...

I use Outlook 2007, and the displays informs me about new mail and scrolls the header... that IS very nice when gaming :)

Well I'm using Windows Mail, which is Outlook Express in Vista and the only notification I get is on the the little mail light below the trackpad.
