Hey everyone,
I’m currently having BSOD problems, commonly with error code 1000007e, Bad Pool Errors or 10000050.
I have an Asus G1S-A1 Laptop ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220182) and although it comes with Vista, I have downgraded back to WinXP with the help of this site: ( http://asusg1s.wikidot.com/)
When I submit an error report, XP says that these BSOD problems are probably due to a device driver and I would really like to isolate this problem.
The following is hooked up to my laptop:
2 USB Hubs
External DVDRW (USB)
External HDD (eSATA)
The only thing I have recently got was the external HDD, and I have a gut feeling that is the problem. It is probably because I have it connected via eSATA, and I have a bad feeling that there is some sort of a device conflict there.
I have just done a fresh install of XP SP2 and the BSOD problems still occur during normal PC usage (surfing, changing mp3s, or playing PC Games)
Is there anyone would could take a look at the minidumps generated by my PC and let me know what I can do to troubleshoot this issue?

For the moment I can advise this:
Memtest your rams. They might be the cause for the first errors. The third file is a driver error. Start by updating your video card driver. If this fails, try and get the latest drivers for the motherboard. -
Thanks very much for your advice Wishmaker,
I did everything you said, ran Memtest86 overnight, with 7 passes and no errors.
And I also went from 169.28 nVidia drivers to 174.31 and haven't had a BSOD in four days. This morning however, I ran Opera and was doing some net surfing when I got this Page Fault error.

I thought everything felt pretty stable after I changed video drivers, but I'm still getting this page fault error.
I usually have active torrents going to my external HD, do you think this could be an issue? (Seeing as when I didn't have this HD before, I never received this error)
(Also, I haven't looked for new motherboard drivers, I'm not sure if there are any, as the http://asusg1s.wikidot.com/ site has most of the G1S drivers for download)
Thanks again for your help, looking forward to replies -
Did you undervolt your NB?
-
Hey Oldman,
Nope, I have not overclocked or underclocked anything.
Well... I was thinking, maybe this problem may be due to software as well. I heard there were some problems with memory issues with ZoneAlarm, I also have NOD32 installed which got me thinking...
Perhaps these programs are accessing files and suddenly when they scan something in the background, the BSOD comes up? I'm seriously at a loss here. I've worked with computers for a long time but my G1S is giving me a hard time =/
Also, the computer crashed while I was at work and here's a brand new minidump: http://www.zshare.net/download/133989733ed96b16/
Please help and feel free to ask any questions, I'd love some (any) input
Thanks! -
Most common hardware problem is sudden failure of RAM or VRAM.
If you recently made RAM upgrade, remove the chip and follow up NB behavior. Try not to overheat RAM and VRAM
I'll try to decipher your dumps but I believe they are differ for different hardware configurations and reflect resources allocated for a device by OS. -
Well, everytime my computer stops, it's due to a Blue Screen (of different error codes, mostly being Bad Pool Errors or Page Faults). So according to your intuition, it's probably hardware?
Regarding if I recently made a RAM upgrade, I have not. Everything about this computer is stock. I have run Memtest with 7 passes and no errors at all. I'm pretty sure it's not RAM, but I could be wrong. The only thing I changed was the OS, from Vista to XP.
Technically, the G1S does NOT have "official" XP drivers from Asus, but instead people have organized drivers for everyone to use (see the Asus G1S site I posted earlier). I am using the drivers they have recommended so it really should be okay. (should be...)
Thanks for your responses and I welcome others to reply too!
