Thought it might be good to compile boot times for various OSs and RAM using the following data fields (adjust milestones as needed for XP):

    OS:
    RAM:
    ReadyBoost:

    FULL BOOT
    Time power on to flame:
Time power on to Vista loading bar start:
Time power on to logon screen:
Time enter key in logon to desktop on screen:

RESUME after closing lid (resume from sleep aka resume from STR)
    Time power button to logon:
Time enter key in logon to desktop on screen:

    I'll start:

    OS: Vista Ulimate 64 bit
    RAM: 2 GB (stock)
    ReadyBoost: 4 GB 150x SDHC

    FULL BOOT
Time power on to flame: <3 sec.
Time power on to Vista loading bar start: <16 sec.
Time power on to logon screen: <46 sec.
Time enter key in logon to desktop on screen: < 3 sec.

    RESUME from sleep
Time power button to logon: <25 sec.
Time enter key in logon to desktop on screen: <0.5 sec.

EDIT: By "<3 sec." I mean more than 2 but less than 3 sec. "<46 sec." means more than 45 sec. but less than 46 sec.

Almost a full minute!? I don't think I can wait that long. I will post mine when I get it, hopefully ordering today or tomorrow :).

Well, Vista does that :p Takes me a good 15-18 seconds to go from computer off to surfing the web on XP. I don't want to know how long it may take for Vista ;)

I am here on a really crappy Dell Precision 530 Workstation with a Xeon 1 processor, 1 minute start up is going to seem light speed to me :p .
