    G1S Btime/Date/Bios issue

    This morning when I booted my laptop it didnt get past the American Megatrends boot screen, It detected every thing as fine but said my cmos time was out, hit F2 to boot goes to the bios and have to reset time and date in the bios then exit everything runs fine after that, any suggestions would be helpful. Leaning towards a cmos battery(does this sound correct) but have no idea were to find it on a laptop running Vista Ultimate 32 bit

    I saved this pic from an old post I found... the CR2032 can be clearly seen in the lower right hand corner... not sure if it's the g1/g1s/g1sn, doesn't match the g1s disassembly guide. Hope it helps... good luck.

    Yes. If you are having to reset the time constantly, you probably need a new CMOS battery, which from the pic below is a CR2032. If you want to try resetting the BIOS to defaults, it may clear the issue if it's bad stored data, but that is much less likely.
