Well seems like everytime I try to play a 1080p mkv file while connected to my Toshiba LCD 32" via HDMI my CPU usage jumps to 90-100% usage and a very annoying stuttering issue appears...
My battery plan is high performance ofcourse.
When I play the file on the regular 15.4" laptop LCD screen usage is between 60-70% yet no stuttering.
Any ideas how to fix this? :/
I tried switching decoders to FFD and Cyberlink in Zoomplayer with no success and I also tried using BSPlayer and still the problem appeared.

Another thing I just noticed is that the CPU 1 usage is 90-100% while the CPU 2 is hardly at 30%, any sense in this?
-
Well, for one, i believe the high performance mode has it so that your cpu is pretty much always at 100%; which is completely unnecessary. Try adjusting your power plan and also try using VLC media player.

There isn't a problem with running high performance mode for now. You're just eliminating power settings from the list of possible problems. Once you get this solved you can set it back to dynamic or whatever Asus calls it.
I agree with the VLC suggestion. With some of my HD files VLC did a much better job in playback.
You may also want to try the latest video drivers. There are about a million threads around here about where to get the latest nVidia drivers. -
Are your codecs from the klite pack? I found them to work best with anything.
Also, yeah try to update video drivers. Your card has PureVideo HD so it's the card doing the HD playback -
You might want to look into getting CoreAVC Decoder as it is the fastest software decoder at the moment. However, that said, the G1S should be able to handle 1080p /x64 MKVs without any problem even with the FDDshow decoder. You might want to look into shutting down a few apps, especially programs like Sidebar(which have major memory/cpu leaks btw), Live Messenger, etc that could be taking up valuable resources and slowing down playback.
Does playback improve without HDMI out? ie; running from your Notebook monitor? If so, then I would suggest looking into updating your videocard drivers at Laptopvideo2go.com, and download the latest 174.31 released by ASUS. It may fix the HDMI output issue. -
Seems like I'm stuck at a dead end, tried minimizing CPU usage by closing all irrelevant programs and using CoreAVC and still the stuttering continues.
Also tried switching drivers to 174.31 :/
