Just like the title says, it takes about 15 minutes to burn a mostly full (about 4.3-4.5 GB) DVD. I use Nero 8 and ive checked my ATA settings to make sure its in DMA mode and such, but I haven't found any solutions as to why its not getting to 8x on the burn.

    Any suggestions?

    Better Media?

    Verbatim is the best IMO.

It is dependent on the media as ViciousXUSMC said, make sure you have 8x media, and if you do, it's probably a limitation in the firmware not recognizing the media ID of the disc you are trying to burn. Not much you can do in that case, since there's no updated firmware from ASUS for that drive.
