Just got mine, looks good, nice, etc... however, I'm really pissed off about how slow it runs due to all the crap they load on it... I know this must have been answered but I couldnt search through hundreds of threads for one quick answer, here's my question real quick:

I have my own copy of ultimate which I bought long ago, should I just go ahead and format my new PC and reinstall a clean Vista boot? Did those CDs that came with the computer have all the necessary drivers on them? Is it worth it? Does it void warranty? Any help will be greatly appreciated... Thanks guys!

Just a clean install with your DVD. If it is not an OEM version that you bought, you can just use your Home Prenium serial number that comes with the G1S with your "ultimate DVD" (Retail disk are universal, they contain all versions :)).

I think you can also use your recovery CD, and not insert the driver disk when prompted, and then do a manual driver install with it once you are in windows.

For Farcry, I think it's driver related. It hapenned to my friend when he switched from his FX5800 to a 7600GT. (and thus updating drivers, )

Thanks again... So final question: Is it worth it to go over the tweaks added in some of the posts (removing bloatware, etc), or just formatting completely? I have a feeling it will work better after a clean install, correct?

    Ultimate is not worth.
Just install the DVD that with your computer and then if it ask you for the Second CD click the shutdown button for +3 seconds then restart and install the needed driver.
2-Go to this thread and this thread they are very good.
    hope this helps.

Yeah but that DVD is an image with the same bloatware... no point doing that... I just formatted my drive and installed a clean vista ulitmate copy, takign a while to reinstall all drivers, but its already working a million times better... I highly recommend any new G1S user to do this
