Well i just reinstalled Vista using the recovery CD that came with the laptop. Switching to Vista helped cure some stuttering problems. Now the problems are audio, not video. After installing all the updates and drivers and trying to configure the audio, the Speaker Configuration in the Realtek Manager is Grayed out, leaving it only on Speaker setting when i have a Headset plug'd in. It says i plugged in a new audio device, but the setting is still grayed out.
Another thing is when i play a game, or listen to anything really, when certain things happen like i shoot a gun or pick up an item, the audio goes suddenly lower and then after the sound is done, it goes back up to the original volume. I tried reinstalling drivers, both from Asus and Realtek site and nothing has been working. Theres probably a simple fix somewhere and i apologize if there is but nothing has worked so far. Any ideas?

Please do some research in the official owners lounge forums for your laptop. There are numerous posts about sound issues. You should Uninstall ADSM Asus Data Security Manager.
