I did a clean install on my G1S when I received it and I didn't install Splendid.

I searched the forums and people that have uninstalled Splendid are using 0% Gamma and 50% for both brightness and contrast.

I tried using 0% and I loose a lot of details in darker images.

What gamma settings are most people using? Are you just keeping it default at 50%? To me, default setting for gamma washes out the picture.

Do advanced search and limit the results to Posts rather than Threads. That will cut back on the reading you have to do, but still leave some your responsibility ;).

Man, I did do a search prior to starting this thread but only found threads where the gamma was set to zero :(

Then I re-did the search and guess what? I found more threads where other options were provided

Regardless, I ended up taking my wife's vaio and displayed a picture from our wedding in both laptops. I used the vaio as the standard because the actual photo is nearly identical to what is displayed on the screen.

Here is what I ended up with on the G1S:

    brighness: 55%
digital vibrance: 50% (makes a difference with skin tone)
    contrast: 50% (default)
    gamma: 15%

Putting gamma at 0% made the image too dark.

Well, hope you guys can share your settings as well ;)
