Anybody having any issues with this update (941649, the supposed performance and reliability update)? After it downloaded and installed yesterday morning, I couldn't start my computer - it got to the initial Windows splash screen but not to the logon screen. The hard drive spun for about 45 minutes, then nothing. Just stayed on a black screen. I booted into safe mode, restored to prior to the update, and all was okay. Let the update download and install again last night and same problem. So back to square one with safe mode, System Restore, only now I've turned off automatic updating. Also, now it won't shut down normally. It looks like an important update so I'd like it to work. My G1S is stock (Vista home premium) except for 3 GB of RAM. I updated with the latest BIOS, wireless, and VGA drivers from ASUS' website.

I've installed V1 and V2 of that update, no problems....think it could have been a glitch during the install? Many many notebook users have installed that one.

I'll try to install it again tonight with everything disconnected except power. Thanks.
