I plugged in external speakers that I purchased for my laptop but it still plays through the laptop speakers. Does anyone know how to fix this? I've been trying to for the last 30 minutes but I can't get it to work. Thanks for any input.

Are you plugging it into the headphone jack (first one closest to you on the right)?
