    Hey everyone,

I have made up my mind on the notebook i wanna get but need your opinions. I can get one at best buy for <$1050 new in box otd or from new egg for $1499 otd. Of course, the best buy version comes with T7300, 1 year warranty and newegg has T7500 2year plus 1yr accidental and the backpack+mouse.

What would you guys do in this situation? Is the newegg package worth the extra $450, basically the .2 faster cpu and warranty, dont really care about the backpack or mouse.

    Thanks fellas.

I'd do best buy for the additional 400$ for games :p

And actually, I think most people will agree that the bottleneck tends to be the video card so really the processor speed won't be a huge dealbreaker, especialy for the money saved. I'd actually start putting that towards a desktop fund so in a year or two you can build a crazy desktop rig and then be able to bring some frag to go with the G1

Go for the Best Buy options. Services (i.e. warranties) are one of the main things you should look at when buying any piece of high-end electronics. Also, the 2.2Ghz processor won't hurt

If you want good warranty don't go for best buy. Minus one year (w.r.t. 2 years that ASUS has as standard), no accidental warranty for 1 year.

If you want good price and don't care so much about warranty, best buy is OK.

Be aware though that (AFAIK) the bestbuy version, besides a slower CPU which doesn't matter so much, also has a different (read cheaper) screen.

I thought i read that the screens were all the same, just different cpu. Do you mean Different as in different maker? cause they seem to have the same resolution listed.

I'm not sure about this & don't know details, but I've heard it mentioned a few times. Search this forum, or try getting exact specs for the two machines.

just picked up the last one from bestbuy, it was actually 1136.00 NIB plus 1 year 0% interest and double reward points. I think i got a pretty good deal. I'll wait and see if it goes down within 14 days to get a price adjustment.

Yeah, website says $1549 but if you go into the store and ask them to do a stock and price check on item # 8397594 they will tell you if they have any and what the lowest price they had it for. Then ask them to see if there are any at other locations. Make sure you Watch the computer screen as they bring up the other stores, it will also list all the prices each store has them for or sold them at.

    Good luck finding one.
