I really hope I'm not the only one experiencing this problem, but there seems to be a dramatic decrease in framerate/performance in video games the higher the temperature gets.
I'm not talking about a small difference mind you, in Counterstrike's stress test I see around 20-30fps decrease depending how hot it is.
I've also done these tests in 3dMark06, and it can change the score by 200-350 points. Which is significant.
I'm using drivers 163.44 with modded inf, but I've had the same thing happen with previous drivers.
Anyone have any solution to this? Or has a specific cooling pad helped greatly? It's also possible this has something to do with a power supply limitation as well, but I can't say for sure.

From what I know NVIDIA has a powermizer built-in to the graphics card which is probably throttling down the performance of the card to keep it cool. I am not sure of this but I think that is the issue. The MB/processor might also have the same type of setup. My rig arrives tomorrow so I can't help until then.

If I were you, stop testing your system so much. The testing programs stress the hardware to the max, which in any case isn't good for the components. However, having played hours of CS myself, I think I may noticed a bit of sluggishness after a while (or perhaps it's just my own mental exhaustion).

That happened to me to back in july, although i don't think it worked as well since then and I contacted asus about this and they told me to send it in but I have yet to send it.
G1S game slowdown due to temperature?
