So recently I had a problem and sent in my G1S in for a repair and they reloaded my windows vista. But now it seems like they did something and took a huge chunk of my space. I got the 160gb harddrive and my C drive only had about 55gb free out of the 74.5gb. Theres another drive on there named DATA(D): and has 66.6gb free out of 66.7gb. I don't know if they partitioned my drive when they formatted, but there's nothing in there. How do I check? I wish that when they would do something like this they would atleast let me know that it would be partitioned if it is!!![]()

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
Asus splits their HDDs into two partitions by default when the drive is installed, and has for a while now. The OS goes into C and the D: data partition is empty.
Asus tech support simply used the current master HDD image when they reinstalled Vista on your G1 when they had it, which is why you now have 2 partitions. They don't format and then partition as we mortals generally would, they just copy from the master image in the shop (which automatically creates the C/D partitions). Nothing to worry about, but I agree it would have been polite if they had told you about the change (probably didn't enter into their minds to check how yours was beforehand, however). -
Thanks for the response clearskies.
