G1S vs G2S

Im looking at these 2 laptops:

I cant decied which to get I want the one with the better graphics card they both have the 8600M GT but the G1S says it has 512mb and the G2S has 256mb Im thinking when it says 512mb it means 256onbaord + 256ram because y would they make the graphics card worse on the newer G2S can somoene tell me if the cards are the same or which one is better

 

OK, the G1S is the same computer as the G2S but with a bigger screen.

And yes, the 512 is with Turbo Cache. Mine actually gets 1GB.

 

If you want to have a laptop (i.e., a machine that can be moved around), then I'd suggest the G1. The G2 at 17" is a beast.

 

I recommend the exact same thing, that is exactly why i went with the G1s.

 

If you care for looks even slightly, well than the G2s is plain UGLY.

 

Ain't that the truth. That's the main reason I didn't consider the G2S.

 

I ordered the G2S a few days ago. I hope I won't be to dissapointed of the look of it. And, everyone else got the G1S

It will be my first laptop so I really hope it lives up to my expectations! After all I have heard from you they are quite high, hehe

i dont think you'll be disappointed
i personally think the red and black is a better match than green and black
and the high gloss brushed alum shell is quite nice with a sleek industrial look and feel.

And the G2 is not just a bigger version of the G1. The G2 screen is quite a bit better than the G1's (other than res differences)
Wait til you hear the speakers on your G2. Thou lots of G1 owners complain about the sound you will happily be surprised how good the G2 sounds. Theres actually 4 speakers and 2 diff speaker diameters. Tweeters under the red grills at side of keyboard and larger diameter drivers in front corners under the laps palm rests.

No need to take g2s ^^, because too big, but if u like play this notebook at home never carry other place) better u take g2s. But if u like practice take g1s. The g1s problem only the sound. Ohyaaa maybe anyone know about g2s sound quality???

oh also is getting the Intel T7700 2.4Ghz worth $423 or should i just get the Intel T7700 2.2Ghz

 

why does your g1s comes with 1gb Turbo Cache, is that standar?
what Turbo Cache comes in the g2s?

oh yeah if you want create a theard where people can ask you question about the g2s and you answer them, I'll be the firts person to post

 

Red & Black vs. Green & Black, I guess it's up to what you like better. Me personaly I like Red & Black better. Plus the brushed metal lid to me is a nice touch.
But yeah, the G2 is a beast to carry around.

I'm going with the g2s cuz of the bigger screem

 

dont know if its too late, but that increase in processor speed would practically be unnoticed, and definately not worth that much green
