I opened up some of the compartments at the back of my G1S purchased a week ago today and noticed a few interesting things leading to questions:
there was a little yellow piece of tape with red writing taped to a screw holding down the cooling pipes that warns that if a "seal" is broken the warranty would be void. I looked closer and realized that the yellow piece of tape is actually ripped about 3mm away from one end and then taped back onto the screw with about a 1mm misplacement. I did not touch that, and my ASUS box was factory sealed when i got it. is this something to be concerned about?
secondly, the harddrive compartment lid was held down by a little piece of black tape from the inside. if i were to remove the lid, would that void the warranty as well?
    Thanks

You could call ASUS and ask, they might make problems if you need warranty in the future. Where did you buy it from? I see no reason for the sticker to be ripped except to change the CPU. Did the reseller upgrade your CPU by any chance?

Or could it be something that occurred during assembly? Doubtful by your description.

About the harddrive: usually HDD upgrades are not considered to void the warranty by ASUS. Therefore, you should be safe opening up the HDD compartment.

It wasn't upgraded by my reseller. I will certainly call ASUS and ask. Thanks
