I just received my G1S and I'm having one stupid problem. I know that once I get the green flashing lights to work I'm only going to want to keep them off but I can't get them to turn on. I know they are only supposed to flash when I'm running DX9 or DX10 but I'm running 3DMark 06 and they are not flashing at all. I uninstalled Direct Console and reinstalled and it worked for me once but not again.

Also, the OLED is displaying the time or my custom message correctly but when I'm using Microsoft Email I'm not getting the text from the subject line of the new mail in the Blue OLED. I've also gotten this to work correctly once but again never again. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling both Direct Console and Chkmail several times and also downloaded the applications for both from the ASUS website.

One thing did happen that bothered me, when I took the notebook out of the box and installed the battery I received a slight shock when I ran my hand over a metal screw in the bottom of the case. I wonder if something shorted out?

    Any ideas?

possibly... but laptop makers are quite good at trying to make their laptops anti-short-able on the outside of the laptop... but its definately a possibility. Maybe a driver issue instaid?

Try first installing the ATK drivers and then direct console.

Does direct console show up in the toolbar?
