    Hey all,

I recently purchased the G1S, which I love in every way. One thing that bothers me though, when on battery mode, sometimes the LCD brightness shoots up to 100% without warning. It can happen when I am at 100% battery, or 10%, it doesn't judge.

So far I haven't found a way to make this problem repeatable by doing any certain thing. It is troublesome because when I am trying to conserve battery life, the last thing I need is my LCD brightness going from 60% to 100%.

I am using Vista Home Prem and have Power4Gear installed. In my battery profile options I have the following display options set (labeled numerically for clarity):

    1. Display Brightness - On battery : 60%
    2. Allow SmartDimmer to reduce my brightness after on battery: 1% (factory setting)
    3. Have SmartDimmer reduce my brightness on battery by: 0% (factory setting)
    4. SmartDimmer FullScreen Video mode : Maximum Power Saving (factory setting)

If anyone has the answer or is going through the same thing, please let me know. Thanks!

    edit:

Apparently, SmartDimmer setting is misleading because 2. "Allow SmartDimmer to reduce my brightness after: xx%" is actually minutes not %, which is dumb in my opinion. And the second SmartDimmer setting, 2. "Reduce my brightness by: xx%" if it is set to 0% actually BRIGHTENS it to 100%. :\
I tried to disable it by setting #1. to 2 minutes (my default LCD off time) so we'll see if it works.

Install the newest Nvidia GPU Driver as well as turn off SmartDimmer. I think that's the problem.

Thanks haOkepa and Theros, I've set it to 2% or 2 Minutes, which is the default time elapsed before my LCD is turned off while on battery mode and have had no issues since.
