    Hi guys,

I noticed a little while back while listening to music on some headphones that I could hear my hard-drive working and my fingers tapping on the keyboard. After a while I discovered that my microphone (next to the webcam) was permanently on, and was picking up all the noise!

How do I set it back to behaving normally? For now I've opened up the Realtek HD Audio Manager and turned the playback volume to 0, but I'm afraid it's still picking up everything I'm saying for no good reason. I'd like it to turn on only when I tell it to, like when I'm using Messenger or using speech recognition.

    Any help???

    Thanks!

Open your sound volume controls (from control panel or tray icon), go to playback and mute the microphone. This will mute it's output on the speakers only, it will not mute its voice recording
