I finally was able to get my brand new G1S-B1. When i turned on the computer, vista was already installed and i am hoping to change it to XP (i already have the CD for it)

I have checked other threads, but their files seem to not work and they seem a little old and such so i would like to ask it now.

What must i do to uninstall the vista and install the XP? and also is there anything that i must do before or after the installation.

    Thanks for the help.

First you will need to update BIOS to V205 so you don't need to slipstream the SATA drivers.

After you update the BIOS go into BIOS>Advanced>IDE Configuration>SATA Operation mode:
change from Enhance to Compatible mode, press F10 to save the settings and exit then you can start boot from XP disk and install Windows.

Also, to uninstall vista just select delete partition then create the partition of the size you want to install XP on

When u boot xp disc, It'll scan the HDD and it'lll find vista partition.

Hit ESC = Don't repair. Then Hit D to delete partition.

Create "C" another partition with desired size. I usually go with 30GB for windows and the rest to store data .

Then create another one for Data drive of whatever left.

Install the winXP on the first partition.

Go to the support section. There are 3 drop down menus. The first one asks for what type of component, select notebook. The second asks what series, select G. Third asks for what exact model, select G1s... From there it'll bring you to all the downloads for the G1s. Go to the Bios Tab, and search for the 205 one. Then install using Winflash or some other program.

You weren't clear if you had another computer to hunt drivers or troubleshoot the installation.

But if you only have the laptop, then DEFINITELY unzip all those drivers onto a cd or thumbdrive before you kill the old OS.

Well seems like i cant update BIOS... when i try it says
"Warning! The date of BIOS is earlier than the current version"

So I am guessing my BIOS is up to date..

I own a G 2S-B1. I am also interested in installing XP on my notebook. Is there any special information pertaining to the G2S range in regards to installing XP? Or should the info in this thread also be relevant to me?

    Thanks
