    Just a quick question -

Had a defective 8600 and I sent it to Asus - mobo was replaced with the G1Sn, so now I've got the 9500GS.

From what I understand this card has 512MB memory - but right now I'm showing a "Shared System Memory" of +767 MB. So I'm showing about 1264 MB of memory.

Now my question is - that means I'm sharing that with my RAM right?
So since I've got the stock 2 GB RAM in there, I'm sharing ~767MB of that with the video card? Is that right?

If so, how do I disable this? Isn't it better to just work with the 512MB of the GPU and keep the RAM for other stuff?

I don't game that much - but I'm just thinking I might get better performance with say GTAIV at lower res with more RAM.

    ??

    Cheers, and thanks.

Don't worry. It's all marketing. The 9500m GS can't actually address more than 256 MB of vram. Its not going to eat into your system's ram. Speaking of which, consider upgrading to 4 GB
