I just got a G1s (all stock) and so far it is great. I have an old universal power brick with interchangeable tips that has worked well with my Sony and older Dell notebooks. It has a tip that fits the G1s fine, but when I used it, Vista reported that the G1s was plugged in but was not charging.

Has anyone purchased a universal power brick that does work with the G1s?

I'm particularly interested in the type that works with AC, cars and airplanes.

    Thanks,
    Ira

Out of curiosity what charger are you using? and which tip?. Is the battery actually charging and vista just isnt recognising it? try testing with Notebook Hardware control to see if the battery level is increasing.

I'm using an old Targus charger with Targus tip 115. I also know that Kensington with its largest charger includes a tip that fits the G1s, but I don't know if that charger will charge either.

I looked at the battery status with the Targus charger and it was definitely not charging. In fact it was discharging even while plugged in.
