Does anyone know if the G1s has short circuit/power draw protection? I'm beginning to make some USB powered LED circuits and just wondering incase my resistors fail for any reason.

I am pretty sure any USB port has these. I had an external HDD enclosure that had a shortcircuit, and one of my laptops powered down without side-issues, while another just kept on working. The HDD was also fine.

    Things are quite well-protected nowadays.

But that doesn't mean you shouldn't design your circuit with safety as the first goal in mind ;)
