I used the driver package from nsa.com/blah.. or whatever. It was listed on the xp on g1s thread. Anyways, I have 3 device manager errors. One of them is an unknown base system device. I thought it might be the chipset so I reinstalled the driver for the chipset from the driver package but it didn't change the error.
The next error was the ethernet controller. Again, I installed the ethernet driver from the driver package but still, an error appears in the device manager. Although I have an error, ethernet still worked so whys there an error?
Final error was a pci memory controller error. I dont know what this is or how to fix it.
If you have any drivers that will fix this I'd appreciate it.
Thanks

Hey, I have the same errors as you do, except I have a solution to the ethernet problem.
The ethernet driver provided in that package is not the right model or even company, you can get the correct driver from Realtek's site (located here) or get it from Windows update.
However I still have Base System Device and PCI Device unknown.
A question I have for you though, is your Fn+F2 wireless/bluetooth button working correctly? With Wireless Console the bluetooth will always turn off when it's supposed to but the wireless adapter never turns off. Another problem is that when I put the laptop to sleep (Fn+F1) when I wake it up my screen is black, I can still hear audio if for example I plug in a usb drive or turn it off with the power button.
I would also like audio over HDMI to work as well, that's about the only feature I miss from Vista.
Hopefully we can find some help. -
I found out the Base System Device was Ricoh SD/MMC Host Controller (you can download the driver here).

Thanks for the links! I actually fixed to ethernet problem after posting the first link. coicidentally, the G1 driver is the same that you gave me in the link. I just dl'ed the G1 to try it out and it work.
I also installed the memory card controller and it worked perfectly. Thank you!
My fn+f2 popped up a bluetooth on window so im guessing that works.
I didn't try the other command you said because I didn't want to be stuck with a black screen.
Thanks again.
Let me know if you find anything out about the PCI memory controller -
I can't recall which device it was, but I had one of the drivers automatically detect from the Vista drivers CD that was provided with G1s when I was installing XP on mine.
You could try to do an automatically search and install driver from the Vista drivers CD and see if that finds the device.
