The fan of my G1s is always at full speed since the last few days, I just have to open web page and there it goes... It started just after I installed vista sp1, i'm not sure if it s related tho.
Is there a new bios that could fix it or something? (i have the stock one)

Most likely some application or process is running at full speed and going nowhere.

Have a look in the Processes page of Task Manager to see the CPU utilisation and what processes are clocking up the CPU time (you may need to add a CPU time column).

Give it a few days. Service Pack 1 did the same thing to my C90S for a little while. It probably needs to run a few tests or programs in the background and that's what's causing the memory usage.

But Vista does defrag automatically in the background with idle cpu cycles - is what it's doing different from what you were seeing pre-sp1?
