G1S hasn't appeared last year, that was the G1P...

G1S is the current, Santa Rosa platform, version of the machine. I'm not sure when the next platform comes out but I doubt it'll be within a month.

The next one should be around late Q1 of 2008 or early Q2, since Penryn should be released early 2008, the transition shouldn't take long for ASUS to update the G1s.

    That's about correct coriolis.

Nazie07 have a look at this post:
    http://www.notebookreview.com/default.asp?newsID=3903
It states, new processors are coming out Q2, around that time. Which is pretty much a 6 month wait.

The G1P was last year's model. The G1S is the latest one, which was released several weeks ago. If you can wait, then do so, if you need a notebook now then purchase now, that's basically the rule of thumb here on the forums.

Also the notebook chasis won't change much, unless it gets totally redesigned, Asus will just update certain parts/components to match the level of technology available.
