    Hi.

I have a problem with my G1s playing UT3 beta demo. I could play it yesterday without any problems, and i can play bioshock without any problems.. But today, my g1s keeps running hot. Which means, NBProbe shows me, that the CPU fan is running at full speed and the CPU Temperature is "Fatal". My room is at 20°.

Also on normal internet surfing, the fan is running at full speed sometimes.

Is there a possibility to turn the fan to a higher speed?

    100% in high performance mode..

the notebook itself is standing on a wooden table.. enough space around to get cooled..

Try using everest or ati tools, what temp is it reporting your cpu and gpu to be running at?

i used riva tuner with the plugin for intel core 2 duo.. it shows that the cpu is around 78-80° and gpu about the same. i don't think it's too hot, is it?

Thats not great but its pretty much average for a G1, I wouldnt worry about it unless it gets in the mid to high 90s, if it gets 100+ really worry.I used to have a toshiba p100 that would always reach the 90+ range(GPU) and would sometimes hit 110, it would force an automatic shutdown because the damn thing was running so hot, Fortunately I bought it from costco and reurned it after 3 weeks.

you might want to think about undervolting the G1S, just look for it on the G1S thread. Undervolting will keep your performance the same but will save you power and lower the temp. of your computer significantly if you lower the voltage enough. Right now, my idle temp is about 45 degrees Celsius and I've undervolted it to 1.062.

You CPU shouldn't be running that hot at all! Is that the normal operating temp.??? if you there must be some kind of problem. CPUs usually automatically shut down at 90C to protect itself from burning out...

Is it only that high when your gaming? May be you've got spyware running the back ground using up ur CPU, do a scan and see what you get!

But yes as ''ilikeicehockey'' said undervolting is a good option, trying searching for the undervolting thread for extra help on that :)

That's some serious BS, a CPU and GPU running at 80c underload is completely normal, on top of that most G1s actually run hotter than that, mine runs mid 80s under load.I know other people with g1s and theirs run in the 80s as well.

GPU and CPU runs at completely different temp ranges......80C for GPU is fine where as for a CPU is a little on the hot side when under load....

But is he saying that its 80C under load???? he hasn't been very clear on that at all.....

:p.......my notebook is running at 33C.....

Dude, for the Core 2 chip catastrophic shutdown isn't until well over 100C. Check Intel's white papers if you don't believe me. I don't know what notebook you have but it must not be Core or Core 2 based.

You were commenting that 80C under load is way too high. And then you added that your system runs at 33C. If that's not your full load temp then what's the point of providing that temperature. 45C at idle is just fine.

load temp for me btw is 58C (no iam not using a ULV) PM 725 is what i have 95nm...

And at any point did i say 80C is ''way'' too high?

also ...think again, don't you really want you computer running at that temp?

its all good that the CPU can do that..... but can whats around it deal with the constant high temp? :)

Don't you think the engineers would have designed for it?

    Ok well to the OP-

I have a G1S as well and my CPU idles at 38 and my GPU at 68. Under load my CPU hasn't gone above 65 but my GPU has reached 105 and is usually around 90-95 during most games.

loopty- while they may have designed for it to go that high, I'm just letting the OP know that for THIS MODEL of computer, the CPU temp seems unusually high.

@comper Sorry, got a little carried away there. I usually do dual Prime95 for stability testing and that brings out more heat out of things.

@craZyfx From your description it sounds like it just all the sudden started doing this. What were the temperatures before? Do you have another program like RMClock that can verify RivaTuner's readings?

    Hi.

I tested RMClock and it shows the same temperature as riva tuner.

I just don't see the point of undervolting a brand new notebook cpu. Since asus isn't a no-name producer, i believe they have tested their products under load.

Oh and yes, it's of course 80° under load.

people, think about it for a second. If you want power you have heat. it's like that every new cpu !! Why are you so preocupied about temps ?? cpu tjunction is 100º, if it goes to 90 it's just fine !!! gpu 8600 is 110 i'm running 580 core/835 memory and in hot days i get 90º.

take a break and learn to live with that temps because it's supposed to be like that nowadays
