Just wondering if it will make performance that much better or not. Thanks![]()

without a 64 bit os, 4 gigs is unusable. 3 is perfect, since vista recongnizes 3.12
-
thanks, if dell fails to deliver my laptop i'll be ordering a g1s via gentechpc
-
i heard that g2s has problems with 3gb of ram....does the g1s have the same problems?
-
Really? Is it true? -
no problems here with 3g in a G1s and better performance than with 2gb - Vista is a hungry o/s for sure...
-
3 gigs works great on my G1S
-
3 GB is perfect on our G2s (2GB Patriot stick from Newegg)
-
With 2GB, 2 sticks, you can get dual channel operation. Performs better than 3GB in some situations, worse in others.

Thanks for all the answers...the g1s i want is about $2075....kinda pricey...the dell i ordered (a month ago and still have not received (1720)) is $1450 and then i have a $100 compensation making it 1350.... =T
-
Also have to remember the dell's video card is only GDDR2 as well, so the G1S would perform better.
-
ok to be fair, the same specs on the g1s would cost $1832, but the same specs on the 1520 would have cost me $1350 (except the coupon i used is not offered anymore) so it is about $475 for a better build quality, a better video card, much smaller (thiner) laptop, but the bookbag and mouse accounts for about $150 so its a $325 difference....hmmm (o and i would get it within a week instead of the month i have already wasted on dell)

Plus, the asus name is worth more than dell
-
-
what brand/type of memory did you buy? or did you just customized it to 3gig before you bought the g1s?
