without a 64 bit os, 4 gigs is unusable. 3 is perfect, since vista recongnizes 3.12

3 GB is perfect on our G2s (2GB Patriot stick from Newegg)

With 2GB, 2 sticks, you can get dual channel operation. Performs better than 3GB in some situations, worse in others.

Also have to remember the dell's video card is only GDDR2 as well, so the G1S would perform better.

ok to be fair, the same specs on the g1s would cost $1832, but the same specs on the 1520 would have cost me $1350 (except the coupon i used is not offered anymore) so it is about $475 for a better build quality, a better video card, much smaller (thiner) laptop, but the bookbag and mouse accounts for about $150 so its a $325 difference....hmmm (o and i would get it within a week instead of the month i have already wasted on dell)
