Yeah, that's the part that killed me. The X-1 Specification means that it is a Best Buy only Asus G1S. First of all, it only had the 2.0Ghz Dual Core 2, I didn't realize that, and also, I have to use Best Buy's customer support; when I called Asus for assistance, they claimed that they are unable to give any information to G1S-X1 owners, and that I needed to contact the Geek Squad.

The $1600 Price tag was too good to be true after all, my notebook now continues to restart after loading the Recovery Disk, and the OS (Windows Vista Home Premium) will not start.

I am surely returning this notebook since I am not wanting to deal with Best Buy's customer support, and also because I would like the later model, that comes with the backpack and mouse.

Don't get me wrong, when the computer was still running, it worked beautifully. I am confident I will buy the same computer, except with the G1S - A1 tag only, and from a different source.

That is the issue that is before me at this moment though, the return policies of most sites have a no return policy. I was wondering where all of you got your G1S's; from what site, with what, exc.

    Thanks so much in advance...

And Oh, I am sick and tired of best buy customer service acting like I am inept and unable to run my own computer. No offense, but the woman I spoke with on the phone was almost surely less intelligent when it came to computers as I am. I quote, "Even after you remove that battery and do the disks, it still don't work??" And then she asks of me $150 to connect me to a more advanced member that could fix my problem. NO.

Never buy from Best Buy. I remember purchasing a high-definition TV from them about 5 years ago, the first in my house, and it didn't even work. Stupid Best Buy. Dumb Geek Squad too. Anyway, I got a Asus G1S-A1 from ncix.com; they regularly have amazing weekly specials and MIR's. Or you can get one from Zipzoomfly.com. They sell their laptops dirt cheap and ship instantly.
