Hey, I got an Asus G1Sn-X1 and on the side of the monitor are these thin-rectangular lights that flash green whenever I'm playing a game or something. It's not annoying or anything, but I'm wondering what it's for? I'm guessing that it flashes while running a program or something, but just wanna know for sure what it is.![]()

From Asus's website:
" With Direct Flash sidelights, gaming spirit is shared when DirectX 10 support is activated for graphic intense moments. Get a boost and bring the game on anywhere!"
Basically, they flash whenever Direct X is used. -
it turns on when directx is enabled, you can turn it off using asus direct console.

I think you should read the user's manual of your notebook. You can find in there all the information you are looking for.
-
Oh okay, also, how do I get DirectX 10? I can't find the download for it anywhere!
-
If you have Vista it's already installed.
-
does the dx update from microsoft update dx10 as well as 9?
-
btw, my g2s lights up red!
-
I do have Vista x64, but when I search for DirectX 10, it doesn't find it anywhere on my laptop...
-
It's kinda part of Vista...
-
Shouldn't there be something to download it and install it anyway? On XP, you were able to find DirectX 9 in the Windows folder or something. This is dumb cause I don't know if I have it or not.
-
try downloading and installing cpuz, on the last tab it tells you your windows version and that you have dx10
-
Alright, yeah I got DirectX 10.
-
Its part of the OS man. Trust us, if you have Vista you have DX10.
