Well.. it's been a while since G2 was released and everybody's talking about G1 only.. I did not see even one single person wanting or planning to get a G2. Does this mean my lappy is bad? I somehow feel isolated, even though I know my g2 is a **** good piece of a machine! I also think I might be the only one here owning a g2?!

G2 is pretty good. The screen quality is superb ( i heard it's 500cd/m2 or something). the build is also stronger and everything, but ppl buy the G1 just cuz it's a 15.4' not a 17"

At 17", most ppl would buy a sager w/ a 7950GTX card, but for 15.4," gamers dont hav a choice but to get the 7700 card.

    2 reasons nobody else has a G2:
    1. The G1 has better performance, is cheaper, and is more portable, while offering a higher resolution screen.
    2. Any 17" notebook has 2 major competitors: the Dell E1705 and the Sager model (I dont know the model number, its like 5760 or something). The Asus cant match the performance of either, and with its garish looks and acres of wasted space, its easy to tell that it does not live up to its potential. Not to say that is a bad product, but at the same price, the Sager has better looks, similar quality, and much much better graphics performance. The Dell offers the better performance in a lower quality package, but it also costs $500 less.

Maybe it's not really in stock many places yet.
I'm seriously considering replacing my ''old'' W2 with a G2 as soon as it arrives in Denmark.
My best guess is that its gonna happen next week.

The first G2's didn't come in until after the christmas rush and less than 50 units were imported to date total....... It's a great machine, but it has to compete with the W2....... however, so far both have come in small shipments and there just haven't been that many to go around....... both great systems and both in high demand, just not many in the hands of customers on the forum yet. You also have to remember that 15.4" is much more popular than 17", so that's why the majority of customers on the forum have 14 or 15" models..... people always question why more 17" (W2/G2/A7) or 11,12,13" (S6/S5/M5/W5/W7) aren't around the forum....

Review ur machine even if it is a crappy one, give it a good comparison to the G1, and if it does beats the G1, i think u ll convert some G1 buyers to G2. Anyway, 1 of the reason that i think G2 failed is becoz of th GPU, a X1700 in a 17" that suppose to be a gaming machine is tiny.

The G2 is better in some ways over the G1, one feature that most people don't realize is there is that the G2 has an express card, whereas the G1 has pcmcia...... but with the G2, you have the base A7j motherboard, which has a slot for a minipci tv tuner....... it's more of a high end media center like the W2 than a "gaming" system....... however, the overclocked gpu and vram on the x1700 graphics chipset does make it's graphics much more comparable, and certainly better than the W2 in that regard..... = more "gaming".
