although it is from an (from my oppinion) very unreliable source, it's better than nothing.
3dmark06 ~ 2000 (which we already know tat it's weaker than the G1P.)

Thanks, thats a sweet avatar

I got 2316-2356 in 3d2006 with stock settings on my g2p.. so I dont know why this difference.

Well... u guys din read my thoughts ~ from an unreliable source
Edit: Think of it... except for the A8J lines, which machine has both the gpu of the 7700 and x1700... it would be nice to compare those rather than the G2P and G1P due to how 3dmark test them(max resolution or such)... wat's really going on... does the X1700 emits more heat than the 7700 that they have to underclock it in the A8J.. guess i better leave it to the X1700 vs 7700 forum... -
ok and the g2 takes the 3dmark test in lower resolution than the g1 as well giving it an advantage.
Dont compare gpus using 3dmark o6 its just a waste of your time. -

Yeah, I was going to say.... 2300 is what the G2 should get stock (which is above the 1800-1900 the x1700 in stock form.... and still a tad below the 7700's 2600-2700 or so)... and that's right out of the box. But then again, those of 06 numbers as it was pointed out.

I thought the G2 was 15" like the G1 but with a slightly lesser resolution (1400x900 vs. 1680x1050)? Or is it really a 17" instead of 15" like the G1?
"Features
The bright, clear 17-inch widescreen display is a good choice for a gaming laptop, and with a 1,400x900-pixel resolution it'll give you a good-quality image whether gaming or watching video. Although 720p is no problem, it's not up to full 1080p video, but if you're happy to tweak the settings (most games run in 4:3 and require some fiddling to run in 16:9 widescreen), the G2's Mobility Radeon X1700 is a good match for this screen resolution." -
Your correct, the G2, even thought it has a 17" screen, is lower resolution wich means that the gfx card has less strain when benchmarking than the higher resolution G1 wsxga + screen
-
But I thought 3DMark will default the resolution to 1024X768 when benchmarking?
-
3dmark 06 ok goes at 1280 x 1024
if the screen doesnt have 1024 vertical lines it goes at 1280 x whatever is there
in this case its 1280 x 900 on the g2 vs 1280 x 1024 in the g1.
Now you may wonder what difference this makes? Who knows it just makes all the data worthless to compare. A few hundred points at least
