I haven't been able to get Microsoft Flight Simulator running on this machine. Tried all three versions base, SP1 and SP2. Program splash screen pops up when I try to run it and then a windows dialog comes up "the program has stopped working". I have updated the video drivers for this card (NVidea GEForece 8600M GT) from laptopvideo2go.com, set all of the graphics settings to as low as they go, tried running on lower resolution. I'm all out of options. Anybody know how to get this thing running on this laptop???

The only time I have been able to get it running for a while is to go to a baseline startup (via msconfig.exe). Got it running for a while and then it crashed.

I don't think I can answer your question, but I do have FSX running on my
G1S-B2. I have run the original, SP1, and the new Accelerator (SP2). The only problem that I have encountered is SP2 will not show my installed FS2004 planes anymore.

I would first try the graphic drivers. Have you tried to run other 3D games? Go back to the original Asus drivers first. Mine has worked fine with the original drivers. I am currently using 169.25 from laptop2go without problem. Check the Nvidia sites for how to do a clean install.

Did you install FSX to the C drive partition or the D drive partition? Some programs do not work properly when not installed to the C drive.

Check your DirectX drivers. Are you running 9C or 10? Not sure if SP2 included the 10 drivers.

Are you running FRAPS, a frame rate program? See this message -

My only other suggestion would be to place a message on one of the FS boards. Let me know what you find.
