I'm a perspective G2S-A1 purchaser who would like some info on the A/V input ports. Do they record standard def. T.V.??

I don't think it has any input for video, but it does have HDMI and VGA for output.

You will need to get a TV tuner for it. There are some expresscard based ones from Avermedia or you could get a USB external version.

Here's a list of a bunch of tuners, the USB ones are on the second half.

The Asus Website describes it as a "line in jack". Forgetfull now but another site described it as an audio/visual line in, in a paired config.

Availability seems to be only with the G2S-A1 models.

Oh, weird. I never knew the G2 had video inputs. :p

It looks like it can take standard coax (from antenna or cable from wall) when you plug in the adapter cable to the gold pin. Standard tv should work just fine then.

Regarding the pictures from mobile01, they are from the Asian version of the G2S. I've only seen the TV Tuner on the Asian and the European versions.

The G2S-A1's in the US don't have the TV tuner installed, but as kingdesmond wrote earlier you should be able to get either an expresscard or usb version of a TV Tuner.

Here is an image from the mobile01 review (asian version):
