    Hi.

I got my Asus G2S-A1 yesterday, and upon booting up the system, I was blown back by the amount of things on that computer that I DID NOT want. I reinstalled Vista, worked around my first BOOTMGR problem (yay me!) and inserted the "drivers" CD. Upon the setup opening, I found out not only the drivers were on that CD, but so was all the bloatware I was attempting to avoid in the first place.

I'm left utterly helpless staring at this setup screen, not knowing what to uncheck and what to leave.

I've searched the Asus Vista Drivers thread, and I have not found much help at all, since I pretty much need someone to tell me what each of these things is, haha. So if anyone has a G2, or even a G1, I would appreciate it if I knew which drivers/utilities I might want and which ones will clutter up my start menu and make it look ugly for no reason. :)

    Thanks.

The only program that's a must uninstall is Norton and ASUS Live Update. The rest are optional, as they do help but its not needed, such as ASUS wireless console, WinFlash, etc.

Oh okay. Thanks. So I'll just kind of leave everything checked except for Norton and Live Update. Got it.

I think I made Ken from Gentech mad :p, because I sent a duplicate email when I realized my spam filter is paranoid. Lol. Thanks.

No worries, I doubt he minds :p

Right after the fresh restore, just pop open the Remove/Add program panel and list everything you don't know on paper, and do a search on it to see if you'll ever use it.

Okay. Sounds good. Thanks, Coriolis. :D

EDIT: Yep. It's been stuck on the Bluetooth Utility forever.
