The touchpad lock key and status light (the one in the logo) are not working on my G2S since I performed a fresh install of Vista Ultimate x64. I have reinstalled the driver for the touchpad and the ATK driver several time with no effect. Any Ideas?

Are the HControl drivers installed? As well, check the Synaptics website for the latest drivers.

According to the only touchpad driver available on the drivers CD that came with my G2S, the touchpad is an ALPS touchpad not a Synaptics touchpad.

Sorry for the long wait between replies, job got in the way. Anyway I don't know exactly what you mean by HControl drivers but hcontrol.exe is listed in the Task Manager, and I have the latest ALPS driver for my touchpad that I can find. I tried reinstalling the touchpad driver again to no avail: the lock key and light are still not functioning.

It's probably a bug in the drivers (Vista 64 drivers are known to be doubtful)... in that case, nothing to do but wait for new drivers and hope the bug is fixed.

(if different versions of ATK drivers, utility, and touchpad drivers are available on the support website (even if they are older, not newer) you could try those)
