Recently I noticed that my G2S is unable to hibernate after a couple hours of use. Today I think I used it for roughly 6 hours in one go and tried to hibernate but to no avail. This happened twice last week as well.
When I select Hibernate the screen turns off as it should, but after it appears to be done saving my session to the hard disk, it activity light stops, goes on for like 3 seconds then off for around 8 or 9 seconds only to turn on again. I've left it doing this for roughly 10 minutes and it still continues to the same thing. I'm unsure as to what could be causing this.
The only way that I've been able to get out of this is to force a shut down. Oddly enough though, if i turn it back on open some stuff(firefox and some website) and hibernate it seems to work.
Could this be an issue with the bios? Or am I using it for too long for hibernate to work? I'm going to update my bios to version 300 from the live update tomorrow. Is there any program out there that could be preventing hibernation?
Thanks for the help and advice.

ClearSkies Well no, I'm still here..
You probably have one of your open programs or process when you attempt to hibernate that is automatically pulling it out of hibernation - that sometimes happens and has been discussed around here a while ago; try a search for the threads. Asus had an issue with systems not even coming out of hibernate, but that's different and was around a year ago on a few models and fixed with BIOS updates for those models (I don't think it was the G2 series).
Be careful with BIOS updates if you don't need it especially through LiveUpdate (bad piece of Asus software - it's known to be very buggy and do weird things to notebooks), but I don't think that is the cause of the problem you describe. If this issue isn't happening for you when you have already closed all of your software - next time it wakes itself up on you try closing one program at a time and re-attempt hibernation; you'll know the culprit when it shuts down and stays there.

This happens to me as well when I have Steam/Valve loaded. I suggest you go through your tray programs to what has reported issues.
